Rough sketch of wonky street scene with tree infront

Wonky Street

Whilst in London over the summer I was inspired by my urban surroundings, which promoted me to make ‘Wonky Street’. This was really an exploration of colour, lighting and composition, seeing how far I could push all three elements.

I enjoy creating urban environments as you have to draw in a structural way, starting by blocking out basic shapes. Creating a worksheet of potential colours and shapes to use helped me achieve the best composition.  Once I had painted the scene I developed it further by creating a parallax, pushing the 3D feel.
