Aesop’s fables

This is a project I am currently working on as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. I am designing for a private festival and the theme is Aesop’s fables. I am helping create the overall look of the party, everything from animated GIF invites to masks and Japanese cut out lanterns. 

As the party is set in woods, I have decided to work in a style which looks quite primitive as though it is a wood caving or print. By doing this it also keeps the design simple yet refined and effective.

Inspired by Japanese light shows, my plan is to also overlay these silhouette designs over huge cube lights.
